What Is a Marriott Club Lounge? Benefits, Access and How to Find One

Explore Marriott club lounge benefits, Bonvoy elite access and club rooms. Compare breakfast, evening food and lounge hotels with HotelXray.

A Marriott club lounge is a private guest space at some hotels where eligible guests can have breakfast, get drinks or snacks, and sometimes enjoy evening food. Access may come with Marriott Bonvoy status or a room or rate that includes it. The menu, hours, guest allowance, and alcohol policy depend on the property.

A lounge with hot breakfast and a substantial evening spread can save money and make your day easier. HotelXray now supports Marriott alongside Hyatt, bringing lounge reports into the same side panel as cash and points comparisons.

What is a Marriott club lounge?

Marriott uses several names across its brands: M Club, Sheraton Club, Executive Lounge, and Concierge Lounge are common examples. These are separate from the public lobby bar or restaurant, even when both use “lounge” in their names.

A club lounge may offer continental or hot breakfast, coffee, soft drinks, fruit, snacks, afternoon tea, or evening hors d’oeuvres. Some include beer, wine, or cocktails. Others charge for alcohol. Seating, Wi-Fi, and a place to work can be useful even when food is not being served.

Food is served at scheduled times, even in lounges with 24-hour access. Compare breakfast and evening-service hours with your plans to see which meals you can use.

Why lounge access can change a stay

Breakfast is often the easiest benefit to use. Being able to eat near your room before work or sightseeing saves time as well as the cost of a restaurant meal. Coffee, water, and snacks can also make the gap between outings easier to manage.

An evening buffet with hot dishes can cover a light dinner, while cheese, crackers and canapés make a useful stop before going out. For families, snacks close to the room can save an extra outing between meals.

A lounge also gives you space outside the guest room to read, work or wait while a traveling companion gets ready. Guest allowances and age rules help determine whether everyone in your party can use it; those access details are covered below.

Three Marriott lounges, three different experiences

At New York Marriott Marquis, M Club serves hot buffet breakfast daily from 6:30–9:30 AM. Evening hors d’oeuvres run Sunday–Thursday from 5–7:30 PM. On Friday and Saturday, the lounge closes at 2 PM, with no evening service. Beer, wine, and cocktails cost extra. A weekend visit therefore offers a different food schedule from a midweek stay.

JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach describes a fuller sequence: breakfast, afternoon tea, evening hors d’oeuvres, and evening cocktails. Someone who will be at the hotel for those services may get much more use from access than someone planning to eat out all day.

At Sheraton Towers Singapore, the Towers Executive Lounge lists complimentary snacks, hors d’oeuvres, and alcoholic drinks, but admission is for guests 12 and older. That restriction matters more than the food selection if you are traveling with younger children.

How to get Marriott club lounge access

You can use an eligible elite benefit, book a room with access, or buy a lounge add-on where offered.

Route How access works
Platinum, Titanium, or Ambassador Elite status Access for the member and one guest in the same room at participating properties on eligible stays
A room or rate including lounge access Access comes with the booked room or package, for its specified guest allowance
A paid lounge add-on or pass Access purchased from the hotel for the dates and guests covered by the pass

Marriott Bonvoy elite status

Under Marriott’s current lounge-access terms, Platinum Elite members and above receive access during normal operating hours at participating Autograph Collection, Delta Hotels, JW Marriott, Le Méridien, Marriott Hotels, Renaissance Hotels, Sheraton, and Westin properties with lounges.

Resort properties are excluded from this benefit at Autograph Collection, Delta Hotels, JW Marriott, Marriott Hotels, and Renaissance Hotels. Courtyard properties with a lounge outside the United States and Canada also participate.

The standard allowance is the member plus one guest staying in the same room. Extra guests, including children, may incur charges. Gold and Silver status alone do not include this lounge benefit.

Book an eligible rate through Marriott to use your status benefits. Many third-party bookings are ineligible.

A room, rate, or paid add-on

A hotel may sell an M Club room, executive room, suite or package with lounge access. Look for access and the guest allowance in the room’s listed benefits, including when choosing an upgrade.

Some properties sell access separately. New York Marriott Marquis, for example, offers daily M Club access for purchase by guests without qualifying status.

On an eligible points stay, access comes through your qualifying elite status or the benefits of the room you book. A standard points redemption covers the room; lounge access follows those same routes.

The Ritz-Carlton Club exception

Ritz-Carlton Club access comes through a Club room, a package that includes it, or an add-on offered by the hotel. Platinum, Titanium and Ambassador status do not include it, and ordinary award redemptions exclude Club-level charges. Choose a booking that explicitly includes Club access.

If the lounge is closed or missing

Breakfast or points alternatives depend on the brand and region. At Sheraton, Westin and Le Méridien, a closed or absent lounge has no substitute under the lounge-access benefit, but a separate elite welcome-gift breakfast benefit may apply. Use Marriott’s brand-specific terms and ask the hotel which breakfast option comes with your stay.

Is lounge access worth paying for?

Compare the price difference between otherwise similar rooms. A $60 nightly lounge premium might make sense for two eligible guests who will use breakfast and evening food. It may be poor value for one person who will be out during both services.

Check these details before paying:

  • Whether food-service days and hours overlap with your plans
  • Whether breakfast is continental or a hot buffet, and how substantial evening food is
  • Whether alcohol is included or charged separately
  • Which guests are covered, including children and any age restrictions
  • Whether your status already provides lounge access or a useful breakfast benefit

Compare the lounge premium with what you would actually buy. If you normally want only coffee in the morning, do not value a buffet at its full restaurant price. If evening food would save a family a trip out, the convenience may matter as much as the bill.

How to find Marriott hotels with a club lounge

Open HotelXray on marriott.com and enable Marriott site access. Look for the Club badge in the panel’s hotel results, then open the hotel to read its lounge report. You can compare lounge service alongside the rates for your dates.

The Club badge identifies lounge hotels alongside your rate comparisons. Example search prices shown.

The Club Lounge row sits below the hotel’s name. Select Details to expand it while keeping the hotel in view.

Lounge details are available directly beneath the hotel name.

The expanded report covers the lounge’s location, food, drinks, hours, amenities and known closures. For M Club, the breakfast, evening-food and drinks entries make it easy to compare weekday and weekend service.

Lounge reports are free, with no HotelXray account or Marriott login required. Read them beside the cash and points comparisons; if the hotel fits but the price does not, set a Marriott rate or award alert.

For a specific room’s access package, use the hotel’s room descriptions and lounge page, or ask about the guest allowance for your reservation. If you also use World of Hyatt, the Hyatt club lounge guide covers that program’s access routes.
