Corporate Hotel Rates on a Calendar: Your Company Rate vs Points
See your company's corporate rate for every night at Hyatt, Marriott, Hilton and IHG, next to public rates, points and cents per point, and set alerts on it.
If your company has a negotiated hotel rate, enter its corporate code in the HotelXray side panel once and see that rate for every night of the month at Hyatt, Marriott, Hilton and IHG. Each night shows the corporate rate next to the points price and the cents per point (CPP) it gets you, so you can tell at a glance whether the company rate beats the public rate, and whether the stay is better paid in points.
On the hotel’s own website, a code prices one search at a time. Finding out whether it beats the public rate next Tuesday, or the points price, means searching again with and without the code, night by night. HotelXray does that comparison for the whole month.
What is a corporate hotel code?
A corporate code identifies the agreement between your employer and a hotel chain. Enter it with a search and the hotel adds the negotiated rate to the rates it shows you. Your company’s travel portal or travel team will have it. Hyatt calls the field a corporate or group code, Marriott a Corp/Promo Code, Hilton a corporate account and IHG a corporate ID.
Add your code
Open a hotel on hyatt.com, marriott.com, hilton.com or ihg.com, open the HotelXray side panel, type your code into Corp Code and press Enter.
The month reloads with the prices the hotel returns for your code. HotelXray saves the codes you use to your account, so next time it’s one pick from the list, on any computer you sign in on.
Compare your corporate rate with public rates and points
In this example at Hyatt Regency Chicago, the ringed nights show the difference. The public calendar shows $329 for Monday, December 14, with the 20,000-point award worth 1.6¢ a point. With the code applied, the same night shows the corporate rate of $286, and the award drops to 1.4¢, because the cash you’d otherwise pay is lower. New Year’s Eve falls from $477 to $408.
The Cash Rate row lets you choose what the calendar compares: the cheapest rate you can book with your code, corporate or public (All), only rates you can cancel for free, or your corporate rate alone (Corp Only). Prices also follow your guest count, and search results price every hotel in your company’s program for the same week, side by side.
Select a night to see each room’s rates with their cancellation terms. A CORP tag marks your corporate rate wherever it appears, which matters because many corporate rates carry the company’s name rather than the word “corporate”.
Compare corporate and public rates in one view
Your company rate isn’t always the cheapest. In our spot checks across the four chains, the corporate rate was usually well under the hotel’s flexible member rate, but a public sale or a non-refundable rate sometimes undercut it, and at a few hotels the corporate rate cost more than the cheapest public one. IHG itself notes that verified rates aren’t always the lowest.
So you don’t have to search twice to find out. With your code on and Cash Rate on All, every night shows the cheapest rate you can book, corporate or public, and a night’s rooms list your corporate rate in the same list as the public ones, cheapest first.
Look at the terms as well as the price. The Winter Sale above is non-refundable, while the corporate rate can be cancelled up to the day before. On December 14 it goes the other way: the corporate rate is $43 less than the cheapest public rate, and that public rate is the non-refundable one.
Points change the picture too. A lower cash rate makes the same award worth less: on December 14, 20,000 points are worth 1.6¢ against the public rate but 1.4¢ against the corporate one. If you value your points above the CPP the calendar shows, pay cash. The month view also shows where the corporate rate is missing or stops being the best deal, which helps when your dates can move.
Get an alert when the corporate rate drops
When the corporate rate is still too high for your dates, an award & rate alert can watch it. Select Set alert on a night while your code is on, choose Cash, and the Corp code field is already filled in. Add a Max nightly rate if you only want to hear about a price you’re happy with.
The alert watches the public rate at the same time, so you hear about whichever one meets your limit first. The match email’s Book with corp code button opens the stay on the hotel’s site with your code applied.
Already booked? Reservation monitoring watches the booking you hold and emails you if it gets cheaper.
Your codes stay private
Your codes are saved to your account and private to you, and the corporate rates HotelXray finds with them are shown only to you, never to other HotelXray users. The overview of Hyatt, Marriott, Hilton and IHG covers the rest of the side panel.
